Mt Kailash was located in gangdise range of Himalaya near the lake Mansarovar at the height of 6,636 meter.  It is also known as Mount Meru in Buddhist text . Another local name for the mountain is Tisé mountain, which derives from ti tse in the, meaning "water peak" or "river peak", connoting the mountain's status as the source of the mythical Lion, Horse, Peacock and Elephant Rivers, and in fact the  all begin in the Kailash-Lake Manasarovar region.It has a great religious significance in Hinduism, Buddhism and  Jainism. Lets understanding some mysteries of Mt Kailash 

1- One of the unclimbed mountain in world 

Many attempts are made to climb Mt Kailash but no one has succeeded to climb it . The last attempt was made by a Spanish team in 2001 but not get success after this Chinese Govt strictly prohibited on climbing 

2- Death of climbers 

Many times people tried to climb here but sometimes they lost their way and some got caught in snow storms and sometimes serious injury or death of climbers observed at Mt Kailash .

3- Religious belief based on  Mt Kailash

a) In Hinduism - The Mt Kailash has a great value in Hinduism. It is considered the home of lord Shiva. It is believed that ‘Manas shakti peeth’ (one of the shakti peeth among 51 shakti peeth ) is located at the bank of lake Mansarovar.                               

b) In Jainism - In Jainism, Mt Kailash is considered as the ‘nirvana sthali’ (the place where one got moksha) of Rishabh dev. Vardhman Mahavir the 24th Tirthankara of Jain tradition also has a relation with Mt Kailash.

c) In Buddhism - It is said that Milarepa ‘a Tibetan siddh’ is the only man to climb Mt Kailash. In ‘Vajrayana  Buddhist mt Kailash is considered as a residence of  buddha chakrasamvara  

  

4- Lake Manasarovar and lake rakshastal

In ancient Hindu scriptures like ‘Skanda Purana, shiv Purana there was a great description given about Mansarovar. It is noticed by many that the sound of ‘om’ is heard in the region of Mansarovar.

Scientists believed that maybe this sound comes from the melting of ice or interaction between light and sound but beyond all of this believe lake Mansarovar has a great value for Hindus. 

 Another lake ‘rakshastal’ is situated near lake Mansarovar but  Where the water of the Mansarovar water source is sweet and there are many types of aquatic creatures, the water of Rakshas Tal is saline and there is no aquatic life here.

5 - Mt Kailash as a center of the earth 

It is considered that Mt Kailash is the energy center of the world and energy is emitted from Mt Kailash which controls the whole world.

And this is also known as axis Mundi where the earth meets heaven.

6 - scientific belief on Mt Kailash  

Scientists believe that Mt Kailash is not made naturally and say that it has a structure like a pyramid. It is also noticed that in the region of mount Kailash time passes very Fastly because people say that people see an unexpected growth in their hair and nails when they spend more than 12 hours in the Kailash region .
